Established in 2014 with a registered capital of RMB 23.545 billion, Shenghong Refining & Chemical is located at No. 59 Petrochemical 3rd Road, Xuwei New Area, Lianyungang. Covering an area of 500 hectares, it is a key national petrochemical project. The project boasts production capacities of 16 million tons for oil refining, 2.8 million tons for paraxylene (PX), and 1.1 million tons for ethylene, supported by dedicated terminals and large-scale tank farms; notably, its chemical product output accounts for 69% of the total, ranking first in China. Several core units operate at scales that lead the industry domestically and globally, key processes utilize proprietary technologies, and the facility possesses robust capacity for producing basic raw materials.
The project's commissioning has boosted domestic supplies of aromatics and olefins. With over 80% of materials supplied internally within the base, it has established a closed-loop, high-end petrochemical industrial chain, thereby reducing the industry's reliance on external sources. Committed to green and low-carbon development, the company completed the world's first carbon-negative industrial chain integrating CO2 and green methanol in 2024, achieving an annual CO2 reduction of 212,000 tons. In 2025, it was recognized as an "Advanced Collective" within the national industry and information technology system and designated as a "National-level Green Factory."
